the bird

Once there was a baby bird in the nest with his mother. They were getting ready to have lunch. The baby bird knew how to fly. So they were getting ready to have lunch, and they were going somewhere after lunch. Guess where they were going? They were going straight into the driveway of a little girl.

This story all started by me. And this little girl, her name was Charlotte. And this little girl named Charlotte was one of a kind. This kind was very silly and ferocious. Silly and ferocious. She loved the cartoony Star Wars (only two of them). But she's going to try new ones other days. And those new ones might be too scary for her, but who cares? Because she is so brave. Well, sometimes, of course.

What happened to the bird? This may seem scary at first, but it has a happy ending. When the girl was getting ready to ride her bike, she put on her helmet and walked outside. The bird was still in the driveway. So when she was going out of her driveway, she didn't see the bird. She almost ran over it, but then the bird flew away. And when they got back to their nest, the mother bird did a funny kind of look on her face, and said, "Hey, I do not like that little girl, but she is very friendly looking."

And so the little girl rode and rode and rode to her friend Abby's house (with her mother, because it was across a speed street). She went to her friend Abby's house, and right in their tree was the bird's nest! Abby came out. We pointed to the bird, and after she saw it, she said, "Wow, that's very cool, Charlotte."

So after we showed Abby the bird, we went inside Abby's house for lunch. Then we changed into our bathing suits and went in the pool. And after that, we dried ourselves off and changed again. Then we went on the playground. It was getting close to bedtime, so we said good bye and went home.

My Very First Prize

One day (this was today, of course), we saw a white tailed DEER! That white tailed deer was frozen, staring at us. We were up in the back porch, but that deer just ran into the bushes because it saw us. And then guess what?! The deer never came back.

My sister and I were both in our rooms and my mother was locking the door, and she walked away, but then, she said, "Wait a minute, did I just see....?" And she walked back to the door, because sometimes, logs play tricks on your eyes. But then she went back to the door, and she looked at it. It was an animal, but it looked like a statue. But when she saw the eyes and the legs, it wasn't on a platform, it was on our grass. So she screamed, "CHARLOTTE! Look out your window! CAROLINE! Come here!" Then we both came running to Mama.

We looked out the window. But first, I thought it was something from Africa. I thought, "That looks familiar, like something on a card from school in the Africa section. It's an antelope!" But Mama and Caroline told me it was a white tailed deer. Then I told Mama after it went into the bushes, "This was the greatest day ever!"

Lovey

Dear Nana,

I was just wondering what was going on at your place. Oh, how I wish you were here! I hope you're having fun. Here is a story that I wrote:

Once there was a little girl. Her name was Grace. A long time ago, she was sick with a really bad cold. And yesterday at her place, she didn't take it easy, and she felt more sicker about herself. And she forgot to drink lots of juice and water. Well, she died of cancer.

The End.

Love,
Charlotte

Muntz Captures Kevin

Muntz walked out of his ship. He said, "Get away from my bird!" His dogs walked out of the ship, too. Muntz held a lantern in his hand. Kevin screeched, "AAAAHHH!" That's why she called to her babies, because she was getting captured. The dogs grabbed the net. They pulled her into the ship.

Russell said, "Let her go! Stop!"

Up

Once upon a time, Carl was sitting in his house. A knock at the door came. He got up, and then he looked out his seeing thing. It was a tiny hole. He winked one eye. He opened the door. He looked side to side. A boy was on the porch. He didn't see him. He looked the other way, then he looked back at the boy. The boy scared him.

The boy said, "Hi Mr. Frederickson. I found the snipe, and I followed it under your porch. But this snipe had a long tail and looked more like a large mouse. Please let me in."

"No!" Carl slammed the door. "Oh, alright, you can come ....... in."

Russell ran in. His heart beated so fast, because he was breathing so fast. Carl narrowed his eyes and made a funny looking of his mouth. Russell took off his back pack and went over to the picture of Ellie when she was a little girl. She had goggles on. He looked up at her and pointed at the picture.

He laughed, and said, "Heh, heh, goggles."

Carl put his mouth down and narrowed his eyes again. Russell walked over to the map where he was going - South America. He said, "South America. A land lost in time. Are you going to South America, Mr. Frederickson?!"

"Don't touch that! You'll soil it!"

Russell said, "You're smart. Most people take a plane, but you'll have all your TVs and clocks and stuff. Is this how you steer your house?"

Russell made a plane noise. "Oh, this way goes right aaaaaand that way's left. Hey look! Buildings!" He ran over to the window. "That building's so close I can almost touch it."

Russell and Carl imagined if Russell was tied to a rope and Carl was hanging onto the rope. "Don't jerk around much kid!" He accidentally let go of it. And it went back to where they were standing at the window.

Then Carl went over to cut the strings of the balloons so they would go down much so Russell could go home.

The Grocery Store

One day, Mama and Daddy went out to the grocery store. They saw a balloon. Someone was holding the balloon. It was going up. He was hiding behind the food bin. When he climbed over the food bin, he didn't look. When Mama grabbed that balloon, she just grabbed it and took the boy with her.

Then a lion came to the grocery store. He went in the store, and when he saw those yummy people, suddenly he opened his mouth so wide, he couldn't even take those legs. Those legs wiggled and squiggled in his belly. A sword poked out of Mama's pocket.

Then a doctor came. Mama was all wrapped up in bandages. Then two more Mama and Daddys came to the grocery store. Then a super nice lion came. They didn't think it was a super nice one, they thought it was a mean one. It smiled at them, and they said, "Whew, I thought I was dead!" And then Caroline came, and she said, "Oh Mama! Are you okay?" And she held still like this (demonstrates a pose).

And you will stop and go to your car.

Would You Please Stay at Home LIttle Cat?

Oh, cat, I need you
Because you are so special to me

Because you don't need your hat on anymore!
Because it doesn't fit you
Your hat doesn't fit you anymore!

I Love You Little Frog, But Don't Run Away

The Little Lady Walking Down the Street to Her Bed

Once upon a time, there was a little girl in bed. She was dreaming that she was walking down the forest of a night tree. She was walking down the road, but suddenly she heard a "thump, thump" noise, and she looked around.

And then, she saw an apple. Right on the road!

She walked and walked till she found a beast. "Huh?" she said.

And then she was walking down the street again until she found a bed. "Ahhh," she lay down. Then her eyes were flowing with water. She woke up in her dream. Her arm was grabbing her tail. Both arms were grabbing her tail. She was shaking it. She was dying like a crumbling ball. Then, when the my giant footsteps came along, I grabbed her throat and threw her in the trash can.

Then there was Captain Brainstorm. Then Little Bill tried and tried to catch himself while he was slipping in the rain.

The Monster Is Sad

Once upon a time, long ago, came a magic flying rock. And the monster catched the flying rock, and it fell down and broke. "Oh no!" he said, and then he started crying. And then a little floor came, and it hugged the little monster so much that soon he was all tired out.

The monster soon found his mommy zebra. And his mommy zebra coughed and she had a feeling of coughing - a feeling of coughing upstairs. Soon, POP! His head was floating up to the sea. And his head was already gone. Mrs. Beck floated out to catch it.

Soon, a mommy came and smiled. "What a beautiful day! I better catch my head." And her head floated out into sea. Soon, POP! Another head got into the water. A woman that was making soup jumped on the head. And she thought to catch her head.

Soon, "Let's go home after this," said the woman, thinking how she could get out of the sea.

Super Why Has Done It

Super Why once walked out from bed and went to see his mom. He said, "Mom, can I please do it?" His mom said, "Yep, sure." He wants to go to his grandmother's house.

Super Why walked to his grandmother's house and there were no cars, so he just walked down to his grandmother's house anyway. Super Why again got back in bed and went to sleep.

"Whoa," he said when he stepped on his bed.

Then Super Why said, "And then let's play Bananagrams."

Then Super Why said, "How can I get in my forest?"

"Whoa," he said because he stepped on the Banangrams when they were opened.

Super Why said nothing.

Zebras Are On the Front

Once upon a time, a zebra came. And she had her mother. And the little mother and the little zebra, they jumped in the bouncy house at home. And they wrote a gift, like this (demonstrates by writing with a feather tip). It said, "To Charlotte, From the Zebras."

Then they erased it, because they had to go home. And they wrote another gift. And the gift was at Grammy and Papa's, and Grammy and Papa read it like this, "To Charlotte, From the Zebras." But they erased it again! And they wrote another gift!

"To Charlotte, From the Zebras," Grammy and Papa said.

They took the gift because it was dying. You can't do anything with the gift when it dies. And it disappeared. Then it was back again! "To Charlotte, From the Zebras AND Grammy and Papa."

Grammy and Papa loved each other like this (demonstrates). And they were family! And I did a silly dance, like this (demonstrates). Then the zebras wrote another gift, and they wrote lots of gifts! Now, the zebras are going to read all of them. And the reader is going away and saying everything behind.

And a little mean girl came in the room, and she stomped on the feather. And then she went off it. The zebras were sad. One little nice bear ran to the zebras and caught the zebras! The bear struggled along to open the door, then went in the house. And they went to sleep and the ball was asleep.

The Rain Falling Down

One drip. Two drips. Here comes another drip. Here comes another drip. And another one. And another one. And another one.

Then a monster came and he said, "Why is the rain falling down?"

And he jumped up and the rain flew him up in the sky! The monster came below a bird. Then another drip came. They just flew and flew and didn't talk to each other. And then the monster slipped and he fell like this (demonstrates). And he hurt himself on the head on a board up there.

"Wait birdy!" the monster said.

And another drip and another drip and another drip came. And then a little birdy flew again and again! Whoa! He was going too fast like this (demonstrates). The monster cleared his throat like this (demonstrates).

(This is a story starter that she finished) I never expected that one day I'd open my closet door and find......

Presents! I opened it. It was a big blue crayon! And it was huge! And it was even touching the ceiling! And it was huge! It couldn't break through the ceiling. I colored with it, and it wouldn't color So I just got a big pink crayon. And then a big brown crayon. They colored.
